Toddlers Stack Up Fun

22nd May 2013

This session was planned for stack up fun. Not to forget the recap of yellow and red color, made two Lego block towers one red and one yellow. Asked them to touch yellow and red tower yes they did it right :)
All mommies said their Angels could show yellow and red at home. Love the spongy brain's high absorption :)
Lots of fun stacking up ball, wooden blocks, bowls, vehicles and a single touch the tower falls. slowly they stacked up and loved pushing it.
They tried using a fork to eat by themselves in snack time. Good try :)
It was soooooo fun in playing in the tent.
Ridhima loved to carry bowl and few blocks sit inside and put all blocks one by one in the bowl. once full put all down and do again :)
Akshaya was so good stacking up and having lots of fun in the tent sleeping :)
While Sampriti settled with few small wooden blocks and stack up vehicles and loved pressing the button to listen to music :)

All Loved & enjoyed Humpty Dumpty and Twinkle Twinkle little star rhymes :)

Toddlers Learn Yellow & Red Color

16th May 2013

This is the first session of Buddies Club (Toddlers) where Three little Angels Akshaya, Ridhima and Sampriti make their first interaction with each other. All seemed to enjoy in their own space with their mommies. They also loved to see each other doing similar things :)

It was just amazing to see all toddlers smiling (no cries) in new environment and all ready to explore. The session was planned to make them
  • Get introduced with each other
  • Recognize Red & Yellow colors
  • Identify different toy names
  • Fun with tunnel Pee-Ka-Boo and search for hidden toys in tunnel.
  • Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Rhyme
I selected few toys in red and few in yellow and put in a cloth bag (Laundry bag) so the curious little minds would love to peep and pick up one toy in turns. Every time they pick up one toy I would repeat the color and the toy along with appreciation of good work by their mommies. They took a while as they were more keen on seeing what they picked up and what others. All Angels followed what I said and learning was high however they were enjoying in their own world :)
Also they did recognize the different toys.
The fun tunnel was more of Pee-Ka-Boo fun than going through it and search the hidden toy. It was just awesome to see how they all shared their snacks with each other. A lot to learn from them :)
It was a good playtime too. All played well on the Music tables and enjoyed Twinkle twinkle little star with action.
The cute smiling faces made our day :)

Sizes, Measurement & Decreasing Order

21st May 2013
This session of Buddies Club was planned to introduce how to measure in units using measurement scale ruler, understand different sizes of same objects and sort and arrange things in decreasing order. I used stack up balls set, cooking pot same shape of different sizes, snack boxes set, serving spoon long to short. The learning happened when Buddies were asked to pick up the biggest and keep it aside, again pick up the biggest from the remaining group and keep next to the biggest so on..... we stacked up all objects so they understand Sizes. They were given paper, measuring ruler, scissor and glue. Buddies were asked to measure the yellow ribbon on the scale cut and paste. 1 to 10 backwards was reinforced and they learnt to measure and cut. next activity was planned to sort the square from big to small and paste and straws from long to short and paste.
Excellent Work and Great Learning !!!! I love the involvement of each of them and admire their learning spirits.
successful Learning from the session :
Sizes, Measurement & Decreasing Order
1 to 10 backwards
Opposites : Big Small, Long Short
Sorting of thing as per size

The recap worksheet is always the first activity of any session. so all Buddies scored full in their recap of weather and alphabet writing worksheets

What's the Weather?

This session was planned to learn different weather and things that we do in different weather. The session starts with recap of last session. Last session they traced shapes, recap worksheet has few alphabets and  few numbers hidden in shapes which they need to trace so they learn to write it :)

We discuss about what we do in different weather and song "Whats' the Weather like today?"
Buddies then make a craft which they can use every day. All they have to do is see outside window and say what is the weather and use the pointer to that weather card.

A sample copy is here. Look at each Buddy's little hands creating perfection.
